I am already in hyperfund but only with a small package. But I don’t want to see photos of flash cars and disgusting wealth. That makes me think of gross networking or ponzi schemes... with leaders getting an unfair share of the income .....please we just want a long term sustainable passive income

How To Use The Bitcoin Lightning Network – Wallet Of Satoshi

Great news: you can learn to use the Bitcoin lightning network today! The release date of lightning network’s beta happened back on March 15th 2018 and since then there has been a flurry of activity. Initially to use Bitcoin’s lightning network a node setup was required (and I would argue this is still the best route), but simpler user-friendly services are popping up to bridge the gap for the less technically inclined. Does this mean the lightning network is centralized? Not from a network perspective, but using these services does mean you are trusting another entity with your funds.

There are many current iterations of using a lightning network wallet, and this is just one demo. For low value transactions this is a great way for the layman to give lightning network a test run. Since this version does not have you running your own lightning network node, you don’t stand to profit every time you route a payment, because this is carried out by the service. That said, you don’t have the headaches of initial setup associated with using LN in these early days.

I hope you find this brief tutorial helpful, and I’m sure we’ll see many other easy to use non-custodial solutions pop up during the course of the lightning network scaling. Be careful out there (please use small amounts only), and let me know if you come across any issues!

Great video Benny and nice one on the disclosure at the end ?

Do you remember a few years back, trying to explain bitcoin to your grandmother?
Me: "No Nana, it's not a ponzi scheme. Bitcoin is worth whatever people are willing to pay. But you can send bitcoin to anyone, anywhere in the world with that wallet I downloaded for you. It's very cheap to use, next to nothing. Nobody can get your bitcoins as long as keep your private key secret."

Now imagine trying to explain Lightning Network to your grandmother.
Me: "Ok Nana, now that bitcoin fees are really high, you might want to send your bitcoins through a second layer solution. It called Lightning Network, and it's mostly finished, but still about 6 months from being complete so it's still in beta, so you don't want to send to much bitcoins, because large transactions tend to fail. If you use a LN wallet, you can send bitcoin to anyone one the network, but you have to open up a channel to them first. And you both have to have funds in the network. But fees are very low, except you have to send bitcoins to the network first, and bitcoin fees are high at the moment. You also have to pay same high fees to get your bitcoins back off the network. Also unless you use a custodial wallet (where they completely control your bitcoin), you have to stay online to complete your transaction, otherwise you might loose your bitcoins."

Nana: "Wouldn't have been simpler to just increase the blocksize?"

Great video! Unfortunately so many steps could possibly lead to mistakes. Bitcoin technology is incredible but I see it more as a store of value. In my experience for micropayments DigiByte is the easiest, fastest, cheapest and most secure ON chain. LN is off chain I believe?

Skeptoptimist

Nice video, thanks Ben. Lightning Network: this has got to be history in the making. Been experimenting with LN and it really works like magic. Can't wait for my fav café to accept LN payments, this is how I want to pay for my coffee.

Can i send my satoshis to Exodus?
There is an minimal amount to send satoshis?
Help pls

dactylntrochee

Not what I need yet, but I'm in no hurry. My "scenario" is that I'd have a LN wallet that I load with small money every now and then from my cold wallet. I'd have an account at a node-bearing retailer (Starbucks?) who can bounce me around as necessary. (I don't even know if I can connect to more than one node under LN or the upcoming mobiles.) In any case, I'd leave a few bucks with the trusted retailer(s) and that's the extend of my involvement.

If I buy a car or large appliance, I can send funds directly from my cold wallet and wait the 20 minutes.

If I have any misconceptions here, someone please let me know. Else, I'm just biding my time.

Why Has Google Messed With My Channel... Again

At 9:10 i believe the answer is no someone can't just use your email and pw. they would also have to be sending it from that phone. i think that's the way it works. if not then yes that is a security problem

You will lose your money if you use Wallet of Satoshi. Not your keys not your bitcoin people.

Sounds like Lightning can become a centralized third party. Not what we want.

Their customer support is great!

Great video Ben. Always good to learn new things going forward to stay ahead of the curb

So the LN fee is about 0.14%? Is that correct?

Why Has Google Messed With My Channel... Again

there seems to be no way to send it to another address. when i click paste address it pops up with a message that says that is not a lightening network invoice, please check and try again. any thoughts?

Sounds interesting and cost efficient and effective. Would it become decentralized at some point in the future? If not, I will be using not more than 10$ in BTC just to help promote the project.
