Paper Trading Golden Rules. Using Paper Trading to Practice Day Trading. Is demo trading really useful? How do demo trading accounts work? I usually recommend people to migrate to a live account as soon as possible. When you have some skin in the game it changes the psychology completely.

Paper Trading: Trading using virtual money! Here are my tips for paper trading (demo trading)

1. Construct a trading plan.

2. Trade the same size as you plan to trade live.

3. Use strict risk rules.

4. Never leave a trade on without a stop.

5. Consider how you will feel if it was real money.

6. Don't trade from your phone.

7. Keep excellent records.

Nice explanation you really made it simple... but I have some doubt
1) Can GTT be used for short selling?
2) Can stop loss for CNC will remain until I sell stock or I have to always update stop loss?
3)Does stop loss require POA to be done?
4) Does auto square off has any charges?

Using The IG Trading Platform: Placing A Trade (Beginner's Guide)

39 878 views | 8 Mar. 2020

In this 'Using The IG

In this 'Using The IG Trading Platform' video, I'll show you how to place a trade and an order, position size correctly, understand 'spread' and more. If you're a new trader, and/or you're new to the IG trading platform, you'll take huge value from this video. Enjoy, and thanks for tuning in.

► Learn My Strategies: https://wbtrading.co.uk/join-my-community/

If you're new to the way I trade, I use mechanical rule-based trading strategies, or in other words I wait for my setup to form, I place the trade and walk away. Set and forget.

What amazes me is that so many traders out there don't even know this way of trading exists, they think you have to guess, predict and blindly hope for the best when trading, whereas I look for repeating price patterns and setups within markets and before ever placing a trade I test these, often going back through the charts by-hand across years of data and I prove that the setup offers an opportunity to profit regularly by building statistics on the performance of each setup and when this is done, I then implement rules, create a strategy and trade the setup/s.

If you have any questions, please just comment below and I'll respond to you right away.

I'll look forward to hearing from you, and thanks for watching!

How can I get my chart to highlight and show the trade like yours? I see that your able to move your position directly on the chart.

Ahmed Zahir

Why don’t you hand me the rules

Aka shifty

Can U change a stop order once set on IG? Thanks for the help Yes you can bottom left corner hit the arrow look in up go to orders ? done.

Mohammad Abudalu

How to excuse put options?

Hi, thank you for making this video. You mentioned a stop loss tab but I couldn't see a take profit tab too? Is that on the same page but located elsewhere.

Thank you,

Pedro Sanchez Roca

do you happen to know what does it mean when they at IG put "mini" next to a forex pair?, looks like for example, you can find the pairs EUR/USD and EUR/USD mini.....and I do not really get the difference between them

Jennie Wannfors

I can't seem to find the first two videos you mention in the beginning - could you place a link here? Thanks.

Pav Gill

Can put all these beginner video in a playlist please.

Kevin Shuman

Thank you for the info

Mc Mcx

Thanks for the vid man. Just a quick question - At 4:31 you mentioned if the market turns against you the loss would be 100 pounds. Fair enough. What is that 1738 pound margin showing at the bottom? Is that including leverage or what?

Great info!

When trading the FTSE 100 on IG. Is it best to use spread betting or CFDs?

And do I IG charge a commission charge when trading the ftse ?

Tan Nguyen

Can anyone please send me the link to part one and two thank you very much

Why can I not adjust my stop loss so that it’s less. On a £5 trade it says the minimum stop loss I can do is £120

but how to apply leverage for example? if i want to buy gold i have to have at least 1000€ in my account it seems. where on plus500 for example you can trade gold even with only 50€

Kartz K

I've seen a couple of your videos and I don't think you're explaining it very well. You're entering some value on the Size in GBP as 10. The Margin Resulting position says 4345.02...you don't explain why... is it due to leverage? and then you adjust the size to 4 and the value under the Stop Normal says 13026.6/ -99.94 You don't comment on it. You don't explain what is a point? Is it the same as a PIP? You leave the beginner to guess about every information that you fail to talk about..

Dan Channer

I love IG's web interface for placing trades, particularly how you can set it up and tweak it before committing to it. A pro told me that once you are trading for a living, not doing it as a sideline, Spread-betting is no longer tax free because HMRC won't allow it. Is that correct?

Thanks for the videos. I had a question about overnight fees, I can't find much about them, and it doesn't help that I never know if what I'm reading is region specific. I'm using IG-US, and I've got a position now holding over the weekend, I can't find any idea of how much I can expect as a fee?

Eddie murphy

I have been trading forex for 2years now, finally at the point I'm leaving my job as a Tech. Best advice I could give is DO NOT JUMP INTO LIVE, stick to your DEMO until you have a working strategy or better still get a professional broker. Have a long term mindset and compound your account. Project it over a year or so and meet those daily goals. Greed will make you or break you in this game, I wish the BEST OF LUCK.

Hamid Shafiei

it wasn't easy to understanding for me

Paulo Mateus

But we don't pay spread on a share dealing account just commissions, right?

hello WB Trading, i got a Question, so does every broker has the same spread or is it that each broker has its own and can you tell me about the custody fee?

Shahrukh Rai

In india available or not ??

Deanna Koh

"As you have some shares in your account we are unable to close your account for you. If the shares are delisted, we will have to wait for the company to declare their next steps in order for us to know how to best handle your account." Where are the videos on how to delist the shares? I'm being charged for not trading a min. of 3 times. Help!

Foto Guy

i want to trade /CL is that possible?

I’m so confused how is spread betting different from CFD. They look the exact same to me

Flo Vu

Hello W.B Trading, thanks a lot for the video! Just wanted to know what's the number between the Buy and Sell buttons? In this case the 6.6? Thanks a lot

I'm having trouble with this program, on mine it says I have a minimum stop loss of 5pts, I can't make an order without a stop loss, when I type in the 5pts my loss ends up being a crazy amount -$5,000 on a $1,000 trade, then my total margin ends up being $6,000. Why does this happen? I want to make a take profit and stop loss about $200.
