This idea that all Black people in the UK know where we are from in Africa is completely incorrect. There are obviously 2nd/1st gen Africans in the UK but there are also Caribbean descendants who are not able to pinpoint where in Africa they are from, just like African Americans.

Some people really need to learn the difference between ethnicity and race, black is a race not ethnicity African American is the ethnic background and the point of African is not knowing the specific background you are from or you would just say Nigerian American or whatever but identity was not just removed from African Americans just because we can claim oh I'm jamaican doesn't mean we were all one tribe we were slaves too and stripped of our original cultures but can call ourselves jamaican etc the same way AA call themselves american

France have Senegalese, Cameronese, Congolese, Haitian and others speaking in french and having their own culture within. Spain has Guinea equatorial, Dominicans and other latino countries all have their own way of blackness. Even in Africa. So what does it mean being black?
