So I mean, I vastly prefer the deck tech first, I'm not gonna watch a video about a deck without having an idea of what the deck does and what cards are in it. So I watched your deck tech from the end before I watched the games. No idea what that does for your analytics. And anyone that doesn't want to watch a deck tech can just... skip past it... it's hardly rocket science. It comes down to who you want to inconvenience I guess. Just my five cents (we did away with pennies in Canada a few years ago, so that's as low as I can go)

Nicholas Painter

After grinding out to mythic two times in row I took a 6 month break from magic. Its fun to play for fun.

Best way I’ve seen this described is as a pretend legacy deck

Angelic Dirt

Note to self, watch videos backward...

I’m surprised marvel gives you an energy when tokens die as they don’t go to the graveyard... didn’t know that worked

Reeroy Jankens

I feel like as long as you show the deck even for a second in the beginning I like the decktechs at the end. It gives us the full rundown of the deck and you can give us your thoughts on changes after having had the matches in video. As for the one match a video, I wonder if it is a best of three thing. IRL, I always play best of three with friends or during FNM but arena lives up to a fast pasted digital standard and is more rewarding for a bunch of wins a day so many people just play best of one and probably realize you are playing best of three during the sideboard part.

Shadow Storm

I'm commenting to comment that I can't figure out a comment thats worth commenting in hopes of making others laugh

I personally found the deck tech at the end strange but I also didn’t really care that much. Do what you feel is right for your channel, I’ll be here regardless

paul griffith

Honestly I like when you make more than one game videos

Personally dont care if the deck tech is at the end or the start.

I've been playing a similar deck, mardu sacrifice with hidden stockpile, I've had fun with it but its just not quite there.

Silent Witness

Deck techs' place is imho at the start, at the end it loses its purpose: introducing the deck and its composition. If there are timestamps I don't see a reason to put it at the end, you can just skip to the matches. But ofc I'm just speaking for myself here :)

Damn, I never expected to see this deck here. Glad to see it though. From what I can see, that period of not posting kinda smashed your views per vid. I know you don't generally like doing this, but maybe having a stock of videos set to private/some other form of not public posting available so that if you get swamped again you can at least have something to release for the algorithm.

This deck is complete cancer.

So much to talk about here!
So I think you're right to change deck techs up. The traditional deck tech serves neither new players (who are overwhelmed) or veterans (who already know / want to see gameplay first).

I think the decline in viewer retention during the deck techs is a signal that they're far too long, though, not that they shouldn't be there at all. You don't need to explain the deck; the gameplay explains the deck! The intro deck tech is there to provide a couple sentences for new players/viewers who have no idea what is going on. For this video, it would be something like:
"Hello, Fellow Planeswalkers. Today we're playing Rakdos Arcanist. It's a midrange-y Lurrus deck that uses efficient 1 CMC spells like Fatal Push, Thoughtseize, Claim//Fame, etc to generate value off of Dreadhorde Arcanist and Young Pyromancer. We'll talk more about the deck after we see how it does! (jumps into gameplay)"

A lot of that in-depth stuff should be for the end of the video, as you said, when you talk about what you think and would change about the deck. "I really liked how these cards performed, they were really good against (deck)" or "I wanted these sideboard cards against (matchup) but I felt like we really needed (card) so I'm going to swap that out" feel a lot more relevant and engaging after games rather than as pre-game hypotheticals. I personally love that in-depth deck dissection, but I don't feel as informed to participate in it until after I've seen the deck in action!

The "Call to Action" graphic is a good supplement, but it's really easy to tune out after you see it once. Have you considered splitting it up? Call for Likes as a midroll between matches, like "Hey, if you're liking this video so far make sure to let the algorithm know, it really helps the channel out!" Call for Comments / Subs after the postgame deck tech, and wherever else it feels natural to ask for responses.

I don't mind when you take time to think at all, but I do absolutely mind long periods of dead air! Reid Duke can get away with that because he's Reid Duke... and even he only gets away with it because when he does explain his 10000 IQ thoughts they're absolutely worth it! If you would pause to think before making a play, do you think you could instead vocalize your thoughts? As a side consequence, your play will probably improve too, as you think of lines you may have missed!

As for B03 vs B01, does it let creators see if people pause and return vs when people leave? "People take breaks at breakpoints" is obvious but easy to forget in the face of a sharp dropoff. BO1 is fine if you choose to go that route for me, but mainly because it would let me see more matchups with the deck in less time! I enjoy B03 as well, though, so it's hardly a dealbreaker; the content matters more than the format.
Also, that "dead time" comment from earlier is doubly true when there's no gameplay going on!

I deeply appreciate the "talking shop", I wish more creators did it! Channels are collaborative things, and I'd rather you be up front about what you're trying to do and why than... what is even the alternative to that, when you phrase it that way? I think the least appealing thing about it is the fact that you feel pessimistic about your channel and it shows at times. Both optimism and pessimism are contagious, and people would usually rather feel happy than sad. "My videos have less viewers than before" is true, but "I want to have fun with as many viewers as possible" is also true, and it's up to you to choose which emotion you focus on!

Lastly, thoughts on playing Standard once a week or so? It would provide a good control as to which format is more popular at any given time without compromising your "Historic" core. It would also let viewers who are more interested in Standard find your content more easily; I personally found out about older formats from people I like watching already playing those formats, so it could be a good hook as well?

I know I wrote a lot of stuff here, so if anyone read to the end and agrees/disagrees please let me know! I suck at getting my thoughts on paper so it's greatly appreciated when the effort is noticed!

Invisible, Inc OST - OMNI Corporation (Alarm 0-6)

27 218 views | 21 Jun. 2015

You did prepare for the

You did prepare for the final level, right?

Alarm 0 - 0:00

Alarm 1 - 1:52

Alarm 2-3 - 3:44

Alarm 4-5 - 5:36

Alarm 6 - 7:28 | Siren - 9:20

Reuploaded because I disliked the previous version.

Still waiting on Klei to release their official soundtrack.

EDIT: Official soundtrack available below:

charlie reeves

Ignore everything in the level except the Security Hub and the Mainframe Access. This is the final mission, and nothing matters but the objective.

Lasse Andersen

Can I have a high quality MP3 please? This is nothing short of magnificent!

Chalermphon Pilartluk

Just finished 'Experienced' today, it took 45 turns and 4 hours to finish.
Monster was surrounded by 7 guards and got KO. I have to buy Med-Jel and bring he back on his feet.

Very Tense. I LIKE IT.

First time beating the game on Expert difficulty was quite memorable. Basically, the security terminal was on one side of the level, while the mainframe door was on the other. They were separated by one giant room, which had BOTH guard elevators right next to each other on the side closer to the mainframe. I then had to get monster ALL the way across the level, past the place where all the guards were beaming in from. Two agents had to be sacrificed just so the guards wouldn't notice Monst3r...

Dee L.

Me walking into my programming class and it's the final test

Dynamite Dinosaur

You should change the name to "OMNI Corporation" instead of "OMNI Mainframe", as this is also used in the OMNI Foundry Lab in the DLC.

Would really like to hear FTM and K&T.

Getting some sick FTL vibes off the background instruments, I love it

Broken Warhead Studios

The title should just be omni corp, this is because of the contingency plan update.

Nick Von Karma

I tried to hear this before the exams to calm down but instead i got more nervous!

"Alarm Level 6...Enforcers Deployed. Do not fight them...you will not win."

How did you rip the music from the game?

Thanks for changing the layout, I really didn't like that the mainframe version suddenly start playing in the middle of the normal versions

I just finished the first OMNI mission, and boy did I make the worst mistake of my life. I found the key item needed and took it but then lost a key person the next turn. I then rewound time and continued on to the exit. One problem, I completely forgot that the rewind undid me taking the damned key item! So now I had to run all the way back to the room to get it while dodging the seven or so guards heading to the Teleporter room, camera drone included!

My only saving grace there was that I had leveled up Decker to be my main stealth guy with the best stealth gear possible at the time and a stealth augment that granted him +3 movement on the turn Stealth is used. Combined with the dash option and he had a whopping 18 moves to go. It took round trip six turns to go back to the key item and return to the teleporter room, although it was almost impossible since one of the enemies had 9 armor thanks to the many daemons I stupidly activated because my greedy ass couldn't pass up safes full of credits.

Monst3r and the rest of my crew were doing all they could to take out the guards coming; and I'm praying the 9 armor guy doesn't come barreling through the door. He thankfully only came in right after Decker got into the telporter room, so the crisis was barely averted. Paired with this theme; that was the most stressful I've ever been in this game so far!

I did this twice, on Beginner and Experienced difficulty. The corporate countermeasures surprised me, but I have to say, it was... interesing. I do usually play with 99 rewinds when I don't have Level Retries (I don't want to stress myself) and that final mission was still pretty hard. The security terminal was litteraly at the end of a huge hallway, and cuz' I prefer to secure places, I left two of my agents there. It was a good idea, seeing that the sec terminal was goddamn far away. I had to dodge six guards all around the whole level. Oh, and of course, neither Monster or Central could go quick enough, and I ended up detected. :D
God bless the Flash Grenade I gave to Monster, because else the show was over.
Oh, also, except from Monster's D.A.R.T I had no ranged weapons. x)
Well at least OMNI has no Akuma/Obake drones. It does have Harbingers, through. And camera drones.

Thank you for uploading this!

9:34 - 10:02 in particular really captures that desperate struggle towards the end of the level, just as you're getting overwhelmed by guards and enforcers.

Malicious Toes

No one:
Absolutely no one:

Someone off in the distance: "What was that? Investigating!"

Nick Lamgamer

do not underestimate the power of Omni Corp and those @#$%ing Harbinger!.
