This past fall, a first-year sociology class got to do project-based learning with the John Howard Society, engaging students with creating policy solutions to a social problem – in this case, crime and police records. Sociology alumnus Robyn LeBlanc, director of research at the John Howard Society of Southeastern New Brunswick, joined the class for a session that would help students with their project using the learnings gained from this class.
The John Howard Society is a Canadian non-profit organization that seeks to develop understanding and effective responses to the problem of crime and prison reform.
