Signs that Corn is Ready to Harvest

23 653 views | 6 Aug. 2018

It's not always easy to

It's not always easy to know when to harvest corn, especially if you're a beginner. In this video I show you both signs that your corn cobs aren't quite ready and how to know when they're ripe for the picking!

Great short and concise video, but you should mention that this is for sweet corn. I realize most people think of sweet corn when you say corn, but there are other types of corn. :)

Reginald Winsor

Good information. Precise and spot on.

Stacey Here We Grow Again

Thank you so much for this! ? I've been a Florida grower for about 6 yrs now but this is my first year trying corn out.. I was worried because the silks were starting to dry out pretty good, but now I know this is totally normal and I'm getting excited for harvesting time! Thank you again! It's really great to meet you and I really appreciate you sharing this info with us! ? There is nothing like picking your own fresh vegetables, straight from the garden. Mother nature has so many possibilities ??

P. C.

Thank you. This is sooo helpful!?

Nice video. Brief and straight to the point. Thank you

Tina Holbrook

This was very thorough and helpful! I did not know that there was such a short window of opportunity to harvest corn at the right stage or about feeling the tip. Great advice. Thanks!

Thong Nguyen

What do you do with the original corn plant once you have harvested?

Very helpful video! Also posted on my birthday. Thank you! ?

Out of all the videos I have watched this is the only one that talked about how to know if it is overripe. Thank you!

You are spot on with this video. That's exactly how my grandpa taught us on his farm. We usually had our corn feast on the evening that the corn was first ready. Grandma would boil the salted water, and then once the water neared the boil, grandpa would pick the ears for all the family to eat, and the corn went from the stalk to the pot within 5 minutes. I also remember eating some corn raw.

Asha Ciotti

about how long does it take to get to the ready stage? just asking if u know plz reply ASAP! :]

i like hot dogs but not fan of corn dogs though but ice cream look so good

Scott Copeland

Both new cones are not ice cream. They are Dole Whips.

Rebecca Lynn

I got the Hei hei cone just because it was cute. But I ended up getting it a second time, it was so yummy. Can't say that for all the photo-worthy snacks at the parks!! Some are great to photograph, but then I taste them and think, "Well...at least it was pretty to look at."

That corn dog is delicious!

To anyone reading this. We hope all of your dreams come true! Stay Positive and enjoy the rest of your day!!!

You’re making me hungry! Do you prefer the Hei Hei or Lost Princess? Or stick with the Peter Pan float?
